Norwegian oil industry seeks qualified professionals to meet high demandAccording to Offshore Magazine, Norway needs 8,000 engineers to meet industry needs and there is currently a high demand for experienced engineers and skilled people in the sector.

As the market continues to heat up due to global demand and high prices, a new report by Hays Oil & Gas and Oil and Gas Job Search shows that oil and gas professionals in Norway saw a 8.5% rate of growth in salaries in 2012. The report, titled Oil and Gas Global Salary Guide 2013, showed that the global average salary is $87,300, which puts Norway in the top 5 countries with average local salaries alongside Australia, New Zealand, the Netherlands, and Canada. La industria petrolera Noruega conoce de incremento del 3.4% de sus salariosEl lunes pasado, el sindicato LO y la confederación de empleados NHO llegaron al acuerdo de subir del 3.4% los salarios en el sector del petróleo y del gas. El acuerdo afecta 156,000 miembros de sindicatos en diferentes sectores. El convenio fija un incremento del salario horario de NOK0.75 para los cuales ganan más del 90% del salario promedio en esa industria, y más de NOK2.15 por hora para los ganando menos.

El incremento del 3.4% del salario en la industria petrolera fue debajo de las expectativas del gobierno Noruego, del Banco Central y de la Agencia Nacional de estadística. Sin embargo, Kristin Skogen, jefe executivo de NHO comentó positivamente: “Estamos satisfechos de los resultados de las negociaciones, y estamos feliz de haber sido entendidos sobre la necesidad de una moderación.” Skogen añadió, “Eso contribuye al cambio necesario de ritmo laboral, el cual es muy importante para la competitividad de las empresas Noruegas.” Read more

Norway expects to see increase of projects and job opportunities in oil industry With three new projects settled this month only, Norway is expecting to see an increase in activity in the oil and gas industry over the next few years.

EMAS AMC, a leading global offshore contractor and provider of integrated offshore solutions to the oil and gas industry, announced that it has signed a contract with Statoil for the transport and installation of subsea templates for the Norwegian Sea’s deepest offshore project – the offshore work will start in 2015. Group Europe, leading designers of indoor and outdoor living walls, has been contracted to install a living wall at the Dilijan International School of Armenia.

ANS Group Europe was awarded the job after being contacted by the school’s main architect, based in Mayfair, London; Dilijan International School of Armenia wants a green wall to make the building more attractive to the neighbours and planning authorities. ANS Group Announce Successful Completion of Prestatyn Shopping Centre Project

ANS Group Europe, leading designers of indoor and outdoor living walls, has announced its completion of a green wall project at Prestatyn Shopping Centre in North Wales.

The living wall is over 126m2 and uses more than 12,000 plants. It was installed instead of a traditional fence to provide a screen for the service yard area. The installation was competed in a very short time frame and has received several positive comments from local residents. One person commented: “I can’t believe how fortunate we are to have such a lovely work of art so near to our house.” Read more
