Anti-Cancer Project Originating from LDC Reaches Next Milestone

The Lead Discovery Center GmbH (LDC) announces today that an innovative kinase inhibitor program licensed to Bayer Pharma AG, Germany (Bayer) last year, has reached an important transition milestone.

Bayer has successfully advanced this kinase inhibitor program into pre-clinical development with the goal of eventually advancing this candidate into oncology clinical development. Protein kinases are key components of cellular signaling pathways that control tumor cell growth, metabolism and metastasis. They have therefore become prime targets for oncology drug discovery and clinical development. Read more

Maximale Ausnutzung des Lagers und Senkung von Anschaffungs- und Betriebskosten sind ein Albtraum von vielen Lieferanten und Projektanten der Lagerräume. Wobei es oft reicht, das Regal fahrbar zu machen und somit die leeren Gassen auszunutzen, die Höhe der Regale zu erhöhen, oder mithilfe der Regale zwei Stockwerke zu schaffen.

Eine richtige Anordnung der Regale und volle Ausnutzung der Lagerkapazität des Lagers werden oft bei einem Bau eines neuen Lagers oder bei einer Rekonstruktion eines alten Lagers unterschätzt. Die Technologie der Fahrregale kann als unnötig, teuer oder viel zu kompliziert scheinen. Allerdings sind die Angriffe in Baupläne minimal und bei der Rekonstruktion eines Lagers ist keine Baugenehmigung nötig, was den Prozess der Lagerkapazitäterhöhung deutlich verkürzt und nur minimal den geläufigen Gang des Lagers beeinflusst. Eine große Überraschung für die Firmen sind dann niedrige Kosten auf eine Lagereinheit. Read more

Landsvirkjun examines sub-sea cable to supply renewable energy to Europe

Landsvirkjun, the Icelandic energy provider, has been examining how realistic it would be to build the world’s longest submarine electric cable, which will enable sales of renewable energy to Europe.

The energy company’s study concentrates on the potential business models, markets and congestion management, whilst also focusing on the export and import of electricity based on price differences between the European and Icelandic market. Landsvirkjun is also studying the impact on the Icelandic power market, security of supply in the Icelandic power system and resource management in Iceland, with emphasis on the use of the hydropower capacity. MAHLE and BEHR sign share agreement

Stuttgart, July 26, 2010-The two large Stuttgart automotive suppliers MAHLE and BEHR have agreed that MAHLE will take over shares in BEHR in several stages.

The two first stages of the participation will be covered by a unilateral capital increase by MAHLE. In the first stage (2010) MAHLE will take on 19.9 percent of shares; in the second stage, at the beginning of 2011, the participation will be increased to 36.85 percent. The contract also provides that MAHLE can purchase additional shares from the current shareholders by exercising a call option starting in 2013, and can thereby take over the majority of BEHR. It also provides current BEHR shareholders with the potential to then sell their shares to MAHLE in several steps over a period of ten years. Read more
