Since it’s inception, the campaign has been encouraging people to visit Iceland again by organising many events across the country, showcasing Iceland’s culture and natural beauty, as well as allowing individuals to share their stories and memories.

The first event organised by Inspired by Iceland, ‘Iceland Hour’ involved the whole nation leaving messages online, welcoming and encouraging the world to experience Iceland for themselves. Aldrei for eg sudur to be broadcast live via Inspired by Iceland

Icelandic music festival, Aldrei for eg sudur, held 22-23 April 2011 Iceland’s Westfjords, is to be broadcast live through the Inspired by Iceland website.

The festival, translated to English as ‘I never went south’, is a one-of-a-kind music festival, blending together live performances from local bands with the biggest names in the Icelandic music scene, all surrounded by the incredible scenery of Isafjordur.
