Film studio at Asbru in Iceland shoots Atle Pettersen music video

X Factor finalist Atle Pettersen was recently in Iceland shooting a music video at the film production studio in Asbru Enterprise Park. Joining Pettersen was aspiring Norwegian rapper, Rex who was shooting the video for the song ‘Amazing’.

Rex said that he had always wanted to visit Iceland, and when he learnt about Atlantic Studios and the possibility of filming a music video in the country, there was no question. Read more

Iceland’s Asbru Enterprise Park hosts aviation conference

The Atlantic Conference on Eyjafjallajokull and Aviation, organised by the Keilir Aviation Academy, will be held in the Andrews theatre, an ex-U.S. army theatre at Asbru Enterprise Park in Iceland.

The conference, which takes place between 12-15 September, is set to be the most important aviation conference in 2010, addressing issues raised by the Eyjafjallajokull volcanic eruption and its effects on aviation. The Guest of Honour will be Capt. Eric Moody, the captain who glided the famous British Airways Flight 9 B747 out of volcanic ash to safety on 24 June 1982, and Patron of the Conference will be Olafur Ragnar Grimsson, the President of Iceland. A contract for the construction of a 44-acre data center campus at the Asbru Enterprise Park has recently been signed between Verne Holdings, the partnering group of wholesale data developer Verne Global, and the Wellcome Trust in order to create a powerful solution for customers looking to go green without paying higher rates.

Enterprise Park in Iceland drives business and academic development

The Keilir: Atlantic Center of Excellence, located within the park, offers dedicated educational programs and flight training, whilst Iceland’s first data centre and other ventures such as medical tourism are also taking place at Asbru.

A medical tourism hospital specialising in weight loss surgery, joint replacements and other medical developments is set to commence within the second quarter of 2010 at the enterprise park. The hospital, in conjunction with Kadeco, will house around 35 beds, three operating theatres and all together have the capability of treating up to 4,000 patients per year.

Atlantic Studios, Iceland - Asbru Enterprise ParkA large film studio has been opened in a former aircraft hanger at the Asbru Enterprise Park next to Keflavik International Airport in Iceland. According to Atlantic Studios, the film studio is large enough to handle the shooting of large complex films such as James Bond movies.

Asbru Enterprise Park is located on what used to be the american military navy base in Keflavik during the cold war. Atlantic Studios is situated in one of the former aircraft hangers consequently providing a huge working area of 5.000 square meters, divided into a 2.200 sq.m.
