New Flight Destinations Make Reykjavik Travel Industry Optimistic for 2010

Visit ReykjavikReykjavik has never been more accessible than now, with at least eight new flight destinations on both sides of the Atlantic to be added in 2010.

Iceland already has good connections with both Europe and North America, through airlines Icelandair and Iceland Express. Next year, Icelandair will add two new destinations to its network, Brussels in Belgium and Trondheim in Norway. Iceland Express will add Milan in Italy, Luxembourg, Rotterdam in the Netherlands, Birmingham in England, Oslo in Norway and commence its first transatlantic flights, to New York (Newark Liberty Airport). And Iceland is a shock inclusion in the best value travel destinations list for the coming year. Before the global economic crisis, Iceland was more famous for its volcanoes than its value.

Iceland is one of the ten travel destinations representing best value for money next year. That is according to The Lonely Planet’s new Best in Travel 2010 book, released last week. Read more
